Hello Everyone. I have to apologize in advance, I haven't had the time to research and find a "good" find for today. Work is super busy, at home my husband and I are trying to sort and re box and go thru boxes of junk and get ready for a garage sale.

Website Wednesday!
Happy Website Wednesday!!
Finally a website we can all use, and hopefully get some relief from. Not only do telemarketers bother you at home, during dinner or your favorite show.. and all day long... they now have the ability to call you on your cell phones! What a pain!
After my 5th call this week, I decided to look up the "No Call" information. Here is their webpage. (The NO CALL has been effective since Feb 2008, however I've moved and changed numbers and haven't been able to get my new # on the list yet) You can list up to 3 phone numbers online to be put on the list. They will send you a confirmation to your e-mail and that's it. You can also make complaints about telemarketers if they call you after the 31 days. How simple!
I can't wait for my 31 days to be up!

Ice Cream Madness!
Who can help but be outside in this weather?! I know I keep saying how nice it's been, but I can't help it! It's been about 8o with the sun and a warm breeze. It's so perfect! (remind me of this in a month or two when I am refusing to go out side because I live in Kansas where the humidity makes it miserable to even get out of bed!)
Danny and I decided to go out for a little treat earlier this week. We'd been busy getting things ready for a garage sale and thought all our hard work deserved a reward. A chocolate dipped ice cream cone. Yummy. I just had to share a few pictures with you. I'm a sucker for Jack's puppy dog eyes when he begs... so i gave in and gave him the rest of my cone...Max even got a piece of the action.

Fishing Fishing Fishing
Working 1/2 days has given me the joy of being able to spend more time with my husband and my family. This week was so nice we were able to go fishing all afternoon! We started off first by catching some tiny blue gill for bait.
After a afternoon of "bait" fishing, my brother fried up some fish and fixed the whole family a nice meal. Grandpa made the 3 hour trip to go fishing too! It was good to see my Grandpa. He's only 3 hours away, but work schedules are always so conflicting I hardly get to see him. He's such a character! You never know what he's gonna do next!
After dinner we headed out to the lake. Jimmy, Grandpa & Chez all went in the boat while Danny and I fished the bank. We had no luck on the bank, it was just too windy. 
The poor little fish were sacrificed ... but look what they caught in the end!

Shop Early! I went in the early afternoon last year and I got the last pair of Mens Flip Flops for my husband and the last Ladies size 9-10 for me. And they were ugly grey! Have a good weekend ya'll!

I miss my blog!
Oh how I miss my blog! With my new work hours, it seems like I only have time to blog my Wednesday & Friday finds. I do have Internet at home, but it takes sooo long to load the pages, I'm not up to date on this so called high speed Internet yet. :) So blogging at home is torture.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday!
So what's new with you? What's new with me? How about my 3 month old jeep needing a new transmission! I'm so not happy right now, no wonder Chrysler is going bankrupt! Good news, I have a warranty on the jeep so it all should be covered!
I've also found the time to make a few new cards. Nothing special, something to just waste time. I love the frog ribbon and bright pink polka dot flower!

Oh yes, I can smell it in the air.... And being from Kansas City, I know it all to well... It's time to BBQ!!!
Today's website is BarbecueBible! How many of you watch the show or have seen BBQ University (BBQU) with Steven Raichlen? I'll admit, I was a little questionable by it at first, but within the next few weeks I caught myself drooling over some of the dishes he was BBQing.
This is a great website. It gives tips on how to clean your grill, it goes into the pro's and cons of charcoal and gas and of course it gives yummy recipies!
Check it out and maybe find something new for dinner!

Things change in a Blink of an eye
I've always heard how fast things can change with just a blink of an eye... now I have finally witnessed it. On Thursday I got word that my hours at work will be reduced to part time. Ouch! On Friday my direct supervisor was laid off... and she just had a baby.. Ouch!
I know I need a new job, however I don't have a degree. So that means that all of my years of experience goes out the window and I will most likely have to start back at entry level. I'm in the recruiting/staffing business so I know how this all works. And it's more difficult because I have a non-compete. So therefore I can't work for any staffing/recruiting agency within this area. My last 10 years have been recruiting and now I can't get a job in what I am skilled in!
On a good note, it frees up time for me and my husband to spend together! And I can't work on cleaning and organizing, home projects, and being able to have some "me" time!
OH, and... My husband got word that their warehouse is full and they might have to stop production on a few shifts. Oh how I pray they don't select his shift!
I hope everyone had a good Mother's day and weekend!

Go Ron!
Wow, what a show! I couldn't believe that they all finished their marathon! What an accomplishment. The tears fell when Ron walked across the finish line. His heart and determination make him such a competitor. Once again I am sad that it comes down to Ron & Mike. I am not a big fan of Tara or Helen. Tara cries to much and Helen seems like a whiner. I'm sure if I was on the show I'd be whining and bawling my butt off. I'm a whimp! I love Ron, he's such a determined man and stuck true to his word to Kristin. Part of me wants to vote for Ron becuase I dont think Mike has enough to beat Tara. So if Ron goes to the finals, then Mike would almost be a sure win for the at home winner. I'm torn! lol. I'm sad this show is at an end.

When I hear Cinco de Mayo, I think of Mexican food and beer specials... but why do we celebrate it anyway?
I learned about Cinco de Mayo many years ago in Spanish class from the wonderful Ms. Booth. I had to refresh my memory of Cinco de Mayo and I'd thought I'd share with you what I learned from Mr. Wikipedia.
Cinco de Mayo is a regional holiday in Mexico that celebrates the Mexicans defeat of the French at the Battle of Puebla, 05-05-1862.
It was a significant battle for the Mexican Army because 1. it would be the last time a continent invaded the Americas and 2. they defeated an army twice as big and who hadn't been known for defeat for close to 50 years.
Don't confused Cinco de Mayo with Mexico Independence, that's on 9-16.
Since it is a regional holiday, not all of Mexico celebrates, however Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in some countries throughout the world, especially the United States. We celebrate Cinco de Mayo for possibly the same reasons we celebrate Oktoberfest, St. Patrick's Day (and other cultural holidays) to celebrate the American and Mexican Ancestry, or American-Irish, American-German ancestries... you get the idea. For many people, they just simple look at those holidays as days to have a good time.
So if it's a good time you want, I've copied for you the Applebee's specials for Cinco de Mayo. "We are turning up the fun on Cinco De Mayo!
