Good Bye 2009!


Well it’s that time for another year to say good bye. What a year it has been. I did not have a lot going on this year. I celebrated my one year wedding anniversary with the most wonderful man ever. I became a mom to another beautiful Boston Terrier-Fred. I was laid off not once, but twice this year. My health remained decent. My father unfortunatly came down with the pneumonia but is doing good now. Mom had to have her knee replacement surgery. She was slow to recover but is doing much better.

My husband and I wasn’t able to travel much this year. We made a trip to Oklahoma in January and have been stuck in Kansas since. For Christmas, my mother bought my whole family (mom, dad, me, husband and my brothers family) airline tickets to Disney World! I’m so looking forward to that trip in April.

Many wonderful people said goodbye in 2009 this year. Patrick Swayze, Farrah Fawcett, Britany Murphy and Michal Jackson to name a few of the famous. A few new arrivals said hello this year too. Zachary, Jeffery and Parker!

I hope the New Year brings every one plenty of joy …. I wouldn’t mind if it would melt some of this snow too!

Baby Parker

My friend Kristin was given a wonderful blessing this holiday season.  Her baby boy Parker was born on 12-30-09 at 10:47 pm.  He weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 21 inches long.  He is such a beautiful baby! 
Mom and baby are both doing fine.  I can't wait to spoil him!

Christmas Blizzard

I was dreaming of a white christmas... not a blizzard!  I swear we have almost a foot of snow and it's still coming down.  I wasn't about to let it stop my christmas.  It took me and my husband over 45 minutes to unshovel the car.  snow drifts were high as my thighs.  A big thank you to our apartment complex maintenance man for helping us out!   I'll post pics soon!  Hope everyone had a merry christmas!

Laid Off... again

I show up for work and my time card is missing... two of my good friends that are in my cubicle are missing too....  "Tonya I need to speak with you"...

Well, I got word today that I am no longer needed at my part-time job.  I knew in the begining it was seasonal, however my supervisor told us they were going to keep the part time night crew and not lay off after Christmas... Well my supervisor got to keep the girl she feels sorry for and let everyone else go.  Some tears were shed because now I am completely jobless. 

I went straight to the Library and started applying for jobs.  Hopefully something turns out for me.

Restaurant Review

As part of my 101 list, I said I would try out new restaurants.  Well I was able to accomplish a new restaurant this week.  They built a new "Five Guys" close to our home and so we decided to give it a try.  We were not impressed with it at all.  We've heard people around town recommending the restaurant, however we found nothing to be recommending.  It was an average burger and fries.  The inside of the restaurant looked like the health department needed to pay it a visit.  The music was way loud, dirty tables, the floor was filthy and how is is sanitary to leave the sacks of potatoes lying in the dining area for people to touch and children to play on?  They also advertise "Best Bargain"  Im not sure about you but $18 for two drinks, two burgers and an order of fries isn't a Bargain to me.  I don't plan on going back to Five Guys.

Sick Babies

I hate having sick babies.  Jack and Fred are both sick.  This is the second time to the vet's office this week.  We received some new medicine and a shot in both dogs.  I hope it works.  The  poor little guys aren't eating, they have a croupy cough, jack is vomiting and they have runny noses.  It just breaks my heart that my babies are sick.

New Addition!

My husband and I added a new addition to our family.  I would like everyone to meet Fred! Fred is a 8 week old Boston Terrier.  He is red and white.  He's full of life and energy!  Fred is my Christmas gift from my husband.  He's so adorable and loveable, I just cant help but squeeze him!!

"Find My Family"

Has anyone seen the new show on ABC called "Find My Family"?  I caught a sneekpeek of it last week and it almost brought me to tears.  This week was just the same.  The show is about individuals/families searching and finding their adopted or biological family.  I also think it's fantastic that the two hosts of the show were also adopted and can releate to the individuals on a personal level.

They are accepting applications so my husband and I are filling that out in hopes that they will be able to help us find his biological mother and answer some life long questions about his heritage.  Possibly be able to be a part of her life as well.  Wish us luck and keep  us in your prayers that we get selected to be one of the thousands that will apply!
