Fishing Fishing Fishing

Working 1/2 days has given me the joy of being able to spend more time with my husband and my family. This week was so nice we were able to go fishing all afternoon! We started off first by catching some tiny blue gill for bait.

After a afternoon of "bait" fishing, my brother fried up some fish and fixed the whole family a nice meal. Grandpa made the 3 hour trip to go fishing too! It was good to see my Grandpa. He's only 3 hours away, but work schedules are always so conflicting I hardly get to see him. He's such a character! You never know what he's gonna do next!

After dinner we headed out to the lake. Jimmy, Grandpa & Chez all went in the boat while Danny and I fished the bank. We had no luck on the bank, it was just too windy.

The poor little fish were sacrificed ... but look what they caught in the end!

Friday's Fabulous Find!

Happy Friday! Is everyone ready for the weekend? The weather has been fabulous this week! It is perfect for this weeks Fabulous Find!

Shop Early! I went in the early afternoon last year and I got the last pair of Mens Flip Flops for my husband and the last Ladies size 9-10 for me. And they were ugly grey!

I miss my blog!

Oh how I miss my blog! With my new work hours, it seems like I only have time to blog my Wednesday & Friday finds. I do have Internet at home, but it takes sooo long to load the pages, I'm not up to date on this so called high speed Internet yet. :) So blogging at home is torture.

So what's new with you? What's new with me? How about my 3 month old jeep needing a new transmission! I'm so not happy right now, no wonder Chrysler is going bankrupt! Good news, I have a warranty on the jeep so it all should be covered!

I've also found the time to make a few new cards. Nothing special, something to just waste time. I love the frog ribbon and bright pink polka dot flower!

Oh yes, I can smell it in the air.... And being from Kansas City, I know it all to well... It's time to BBQ!!!

Today's website is BarbecueBible! How many of you watch the show or have seen BBQ University (BBQU) with Steven Raichlen? I'll admit, I was a little questionable by it at first, but within the next few weeks I caught myself drooling over some of the dishes he was BBQing.

This is a great website. It gives tips on how to clean your grill, it goes into the pro's and cons of charcoal and gas and of course it gives yummy recipies!

Things change in a Blink of an eye

I've always heard how fast things can change with just a blink of an eye... now I have finally witnessed it. On Thursday I got word that my hours at work will be reduced to part time. Ouch! On Friday my direct supervisor was laid off... and she just had a baby.. Ouch!

I know I need a new job, however I don't have a degree. So that means that all of my years of experience goes out the window and I will most likely have to start back at entry level. I'm in the recruiting/staffing business so I know how this all works. And it's more difficult because I have a non-compete. So therefore I can't work for any staffing/recruiting agency within this area. My last 10 years have been recruiting and now I can't get a job in what I am skilled in!

On a good note, it frees up time for me and my husband to spend together! And I can't work on cleaning and organizing, home projects, and being able to have some "me" time!

OH, and... My husband got word that their warehouse is full and they might have to stop production on a few shifts. Oh how I pray they don't select his shift!
